There's a Toad in my Garden

There’s a toad in my garden

It ventures out at night

It’s rather large and motley brown

And quite a horrid sight

It's of an ancient species

It comes from overseas

Emigrating in the thirties

To the government’s unease

About that toad in my garden

I trod on it last night

It was kind of squidgy underfoot

I got an awful fright

It leapt behind the garden hedge

It's living in the flowers

To spite me and my big fat foot

It croaks for hours and hours
